Our take
NewPipe earns its place as the go-to Android streaming client for de-Googled phones: it runs on custom ROMs with no Google apps, requires no account, and keeps all your data local. The multi-service support, covering SoundCloud, PeerTube, and Bandcamp alongside YouTube, makes it uniquely versatile. The catch to be honest about is that it parses YouTube directly, so aggressive upstream changes can temporarily break extraction until the team patches it. Skip it if you want cross-device sync or a polished Material You interface; that is what LibreTube optimizes for instead.
