Our take
MVT is the closest thing to a verified field standard for detecting advanced mobile spyware. Released by Amnesty International alongside the Pegasus Project investigation, it matches device artifacts against published indicators of compromise and has been used by journalists, civil society organizations, and security researchers worldwide. The honest limitation is that it requires technical fluency: you need a Mac or Linux machine, the ability to extract a full device backup, and enough forensics background to interpret the output. It is not a self-serve tool for end users, but for the right person protecting high-risk individuals, nothing else comes close.
